This initiative was founded by the owner of a Suffolk-based insurance brokerage. In this line of work, understanding businesses in detail is essential, you need to know how they operate in order to insure them properly. As a result, we see local businesses from all angles and gain a clear view of the challenges they face day to day, particularly when lockdown hit.

During the lockdowns, it became clear just how many independent businesses struggled due to limited support and a lack of accessible infrastructure. With a clearer flow of support between business owners and professionals, many of these challenges could have been reduced and in some cases, closures might have been avoided entirely.

Drawing on daily conversations with a wide range of businesses, it was also evident that working more closely together and having easier access to expert advice would benefit not just individual companies but the broader East Anglian economy. Plus many friends are made along the way.

The lockdowns reminded everyone how essential local businesses are to the communities they serve and how important it is that they’re supported, connected, and equipped to thrive.
